Safety on Safar isn't a settings screen you have to hunt for — it's built into every trip by default. Here's exactly how each piece works, and what it does and doesn't do.
Verified drivers
Before a driver can accept a single ride, they complete document verification: driver's licence, government ID and vehicle registration. An operator or admin reviews each submission, and a driver simply cannot go online until they're approved. Verification reduces impersonation risk; it is not a background-check guarantee, and we say so plainly.
A PIN at pickup
When your driver arrives, the app shows you a short trip PIN. The driver enters it to start the ride. It's a simple, effective check that you're getting into the right car — and that the right rider is getting in.
One-tap SOS with trusted contacts
During a trip, an SOS button is one tap away. Triggering it raises an alert and emails your trusted contacts with the trip details and your last known location. You add trusted contacts once in your safety settings; you don't have to remember a number in a stressful moment.
Share your live trip
You can share a read-only live-trip link with anyone — no Safar account needed on their end. They can follow your route in real time until you arrive, then the link stops updating.
Identity you can check
Before pickup you see the driver's name, photo, vehicle and plate, and their rating. If anything doesn't match, don't get in — cancel and rebook.
None of these features asks you to trade convenience for safety. They're on by default, and they stay out of your way until you need them.
